Site Preparation : Procedure may be performed under sedation or local anesthesia. Palpate canine fossa and anterior mandibular region below apices of the teeth. Inject the site with a local anesthetic. Stab incision may be made with electrocautery or scapel.	Home Placement : location of 4 screw holes should avoid injury to the tooth apices and mental foramina.In the maxilla, the desired location is superior and medial to the canine apices. In the mandible, the desired location is inferior and medial to the canine apices. Drill pilot holes with the 1.5mm drill bit.	IMF Screw : Each Titanium Alloy IMF screw is designed with a rounded head with a tapered hole for easy placement of 24-gauge wire, or elastics can be placed over the head of each crew.

Loading ans Placements of Screws : Insert all 4 IMF screws with the Cross-Fit ™ screwdriver. Depth of screw head/tapered hole is at the most superficial aspect of the alveolar mucosa.	Fracture Reduction : It is important to seat the head of the mandibular condyle in the glenoid fossa prior to fracture reduction. Once the condyle is seated, the fracture can be anatomically reduced and the proper occlusal relationship achieved prior to placement of 24-gauge maxillo/mandibular wires.	Wire Tightening : bend wires to an atraumic position and trim. Elastics can also be used in place of wires when traction is indicated (place elastics around screw head).
